Top 5 Things To Do With Dad This Father's Day

As you must know by now, Father's Day is just under a week away (Sunday 18th June)!
Now that you've got your present sorted you just need to work out what to do, so in case you're stuck for ideas we've come up with our top 5 Father's Day activities.

1. Sunday Roast! 
Father's Day doesn't fall on a Sunday for no reason... Why not treat Dad to a Sunday roast with the family at your favourite local pub. A few of our Sussex favourites include: Lion&Lobster, The Jolly Poacher, Shepherd & Dog and The Black Lion

  

2. Host a BBQ! 
Fingers crossed the weather stays nice and cook Dad some BBQ favourites served up with a cold beer.  Alternatively if you are in the area head over to Proud Country House in Stanmer Park (Sussex) for a day of Beer, Bands and BBQ! 12-8pm 

  
3. Open Garden Square Weekend
For one weekend a year London opens its gates to showcase around 200 gardens from private squares to secret roof gardens that you never knew existed. The city is full of hidden gems, so why not go explore. 17-18th June 2017, tickets from £13.

   

  
4. Brighton Beer Tour
Beer & Brew run tours that aim to showcase the very best of Brighton's beer scene and brewing history with lots of samples in some of the city's best pubs along the way. 
Tickets are still available for the Father's Day Beer Tour, Saturday 17th June, 11-2pm, £30. 

  

5. Go Sport!

So your Dad's a sport fan? Why not take him to see a local game!

Artists Open Houses Top Picks

This bank holiday weekend (27th-28th May) is the last chance to explore this years Artists Open Houses! AOH is a festival that runs over four weekends in May each year exhibiting in more than 180 venues across Brighton, Hove and beyond. Artists from all different backgrounds open their doors to allow visitors the opportunity to meet and buy artwork directly from the makers. Grouped into local trails, the festival is free and open to all so why not make a day of it!

Brighton Fringe Festival Top Picks

May is without a doubt one of the best times to visit Brighton, with lots of festivals including The Great Escape, Brighton Festival and Artist's Open Houses in full swing, there's entertainment everywhere you look! Brighton Fringe is England’s largest arts festival and one of the largest fringe festivals in the world. With over 970 events at 155 venues across 4 weeks, there really is something for everyone. The festivities kick off on Thursday 4th May with the Brighton Fringe Launch Night Fireworks at The Warren, and live entertainment courtesy of Fringe City. With so much going on we've put together some of our top picks from this years programme!

They move among you unseen. To the untrained eye they appear just like you and me, but that's just a smokescreen. Then, Bam! Pow! Suddenly, there they are: righting wrongs; saving the day; helping you choose your wallpaper. They are the superpowered Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus.

Trade Winds

Trade Winds is an evocative performance installation depicting the journey of two women from different cultures. This stunning collaboration by Australian dance-theatre company Polytoxic and contemporary Pacific visual artist, Samuel Tupou is a magical event for the whole family. Two performers literally dance on the water and as they move they become giant screens illuminated by a world of exquisite animated projections.
